So, i decided there weren't enough epic bugs in the pokemon world. I think that i've come up with a great compromise though.
Thus far, the greatest number of starter bug pokemon has been 6. I'm going to bring you 7. Does that seem like overkill? It is, and it isn't.
I will be introducing to you, little Reincater. This crawly little fellow does double time on the creepy (that is, if you think bug pokemon are creepy in the first place). In order to evolve, Reincater searches out skulls in order to create it's perfect cocoon. How sweet, eh? Once Reincater finds it's skull (it prefers cleaner and older skulls over fresh ones...) it wiggles it's way inside and spins silk around the skull. The skull provides wonderful protection and a very high defense in it's evolutionary stage, Crysnium. After some incubation time, the skull and the spirit from which the skull came from, fuse with our previous Reincater to hatch a new, fully evolved pokemon. What is this pokemon's name? Well, there are 5 possibilities that can emerge from Crysnium; a Bug/Ghost spider pokemon called Mandaran, a Bug/Dark mantis pokemon called Zygomant, a Bug/Psychic grasshopper pokemon called Sphenorth, a Bug/Light beetle pokemon called Occoleo, and last, but not least, a Bug/Dragon dragonfly pokemon called Tempodon. Gotta collect them all. But, there's a catch.
The way to achieve the hatching of a particular pokemon is determined by the type of skull to which Reincater fuses with. Some of these skulls may be more common than others, and some may only be obtainable further on in the journey. This is what i've done to instill some population control. You can probably imagine which ones might be rarer. -coughtempodoncough-
Anywho. These bug sketches are done and they will be up within a day or so hopefully. It's my march break, and i hope to keep on sketching some more. Still debating about my bird pokemon. We'll see!
